I searched high and low for a whole wheat version of cream of wheat and was so happy to find Arva Flour Mills was offering this up with Red River! I'm a huge fan.
My favourite cream of whole wheat hack to boost protein? Use less liquid to cook, and then over low heat, whisk in egg whites! For a single serving I do 1/4 cup of cream of whole wheat, 1/2 cup of milk, 1/2 cup of egg whites. Yah, no kidding! The result is a ridiculously fluffy, high protein breakfast or snack!
We've always enjoyed the classic Cream of Wheat and Arva Flour Mill's WHOLE WHEAT version ticks all the boxes and more: great cream of wheat taste, same easy and fast cooking, and - made with whole grain - it is better for you too. We make ours with a few raisons, as we always have, and oat milk. It's delicious!
Arva's Cream of Wheat tastes great, is so comforting, especially adding dried cranberries. You KNOW it's good for you as well.
Accustomed to a US competitor's version, Arva's Cream of Whole Wheat is much creamier and purer, especially when cooked with milk instead of water. My proportion was exactly 1/2 cup of cereal to 2 cups of milk, perfect! I will only use Arva's from now on, it's the best I've tried.
We love this for breakfast!
