Great way to start each day, with raisins and maple syrup and milk added in. Also great for elimination too!

I loved Red River cereal as a child, ate it regularly in university, and through my early working years... Once I heard that Red River was being removed from store shelves I hoarded a few years worth. When I ran out I tried to find it in stores again, and was sad to discover it was not there. To my relief Arva Mills bought the rights to the cereal, and I now am happy to have it back as my daily breakfast.

If you are familiar with the original cereal, this new version is slightly less course of a milling, but the texture is still very good. I have bought approximately 20 boxes by this point, and will keep buying boxes as long as I eat breakfasts.

How I prepare my Red River cereal (for two people): 80g of cereal, 1 tsp cinnamon, splash of vanilla extract, maple syrup measured with my heart, a handful of Thompson raisins, and 140g of frozen fruit. Enjoy.

Like all the other products I have purchased from Arva Flour Mills these Steel Cut Oats do not disappoint.
To have breakfast ready first thing, I put 1 cup steel cut oats in a SMALL slow cooker with 4 (not 3) cups water, put on low overnight. Voila - breakfast ready.
This recipe makes lovely creamy porridge. Just need to add your own personal additions - Blueberries, sultanas, applesauce etc.
