Our oldest has to avoid gluten, potato and dairy. If you've ever read labels, you know that finding GF options that do not also contain potato starch is very difficult because potato starch is such an excellent thickener. In addition, if you do find the magical unicorn of GF and potato-free, the taste and texture are often disappointing. All of the GF mixes from Arva we've tried have been fantastic. So fantastic, in fact, that the younger kids want to steal her GF options! (That never happens!) The mix and match 5 pack is perfect for us because I can stock up on several favourites at once. We've tried the muffin mix, brownie mix, pancake mix, carrot cake, cookies, and GF flour mix all with excellent results. (I add blueberries to the muffin and pancake mix and extra shredded carrots and a small drained can of crushed pineapple to the carrot cake.)
Nice selections for the GF diet. Buying Canadian is an extra benefit as well.
Tried the carrot cake and the brownies. Both were easy to make and very tasty.
I love Arva products! When my spouse began to experience some gluten sensitivity I decided to try a selection of the Arva GF mixes, and a bag of the all-purpose GF flour.
I have now prepared all the mixes and each type turned out well. However, we have a suggestion; reduce the sugar content in these mixes. We found each item quite cloying.
The next time I will cut the mixes with the all-purpose flour to try reducing the sweetness.
We recently had an opportunity to visit the mill in person and were thrilled to purchase some of your other GF flours. We’re excited to try creating our own recipes using these flours and less sugar.
Thank you for considering our suggestion and continued success!
Made the Carrot Cake on Sunday and everyone had seconds. I was told to make 2 next time because it was so yummy.
