I ate this hot breakfast cereal as a kid, then later as a young adult, but got tired of eating cold cereal while on the "Hamster Wheel" of a frantic working life. I have been retired for a while now and am going back to my roots, so to speak. I could not find this product in "regular" grocery stores, and luckily came across this site while "googling"....."Namaste !
Tasted great but they spread out too much when baking. I’ll try adjusting the liquid quantities next time and see.
I was pleasantly surprised when I found that you carried Blackstrap Molasses! I haven't seen it in "my" grocery store in ages and really missed having it. I use it instead of sugar to sweeten most things, and I also mix it with boiling water to drink in winter or anytime I feel the need. I'm very pleased with it and would highly recommend it.
It's great to find the large size of Fleischmann's yeast. I do a fair bit of baking and make my own bread, so I go through a lot of yeast, plus trying to buy only Canadian made products really narrows down the choices. I'm very pleased with my purchase.
Exceptional, friendly customer service. I'm more than satisfied. 😀
It was a reward when the loaf came out of the oven, with a tantalizing aroma all over the kitchen, then the soft texture of the bread, a nice combination of the herbs and my favourite olive oil that I used instead of the butter. What a treat
Good quality flour. I use it for baking bread and highly recommend it.
Looked everywhere for this family favourite and could not find it at the usual food supermarkets.
Googled and Arva Flour Mill was the best priced and delivered to my door in a few days!
Thank you for the great service!
I fondly remember waking up to share a bowl of warm Red River with my dad as a child. It warms my heart to be able to pass on this tradition to my own children.
I use this product ALL the time in my breads & muffins. Good value for the price.
Really good oats - tastes better than store bought!
Bought some to try…only used it once so far to make biscuits. I can’t detect any difference with regular Daisy flower. I have to experiment with other recipes before i can give a definitive review
Just as good this morning as it was 60 years ago. Now though a few blueberries and some honey, even better.
Just OK maybe try the dark roast
I had my first taste of Red River Cereal when I was a child at camp in the late 70s and fell in love with it then. I introduced it to my own children who also loved it, and then sadly it was taken off the market. Not any more! I just love this cereal and I am so glad it is back home in Canada where it belongs!
Fantastic product, just as I remember it ftom my childhood in the 60’s and 70’s. My grandfather got me eating it, he mixed it with oatmeal and topped it with an egg at the end of cooking. Showed up on time, and what a fantastic deal when you buy the five pack. I live in Alberta so the free shipping is great. 😀
I enjoy mixing Red River cereal with some large flake oatmeal for breakfast. And, in the evening, if we're low on panko, Red River cereal makes a firm, nutty covering for holding sauce on baked chicken or pork. It's a great product and more than nostalgia.
This flour makes a good hearty bannock with good texture, and, when mixed with spelt flour, a taste that goes well with plum jam. A new favourite for my pantry.
I ran out of my fave hot cereal in the middle of a cold snap in January. I went on Arva’s website and ordered the four box, delivery included bundle. I’m pretty sure it was here next day. I wasn’t without my hot cereal long! Thank you Arva for continuing the Red River tradition in Canada and getting it to me quickly!
This has been my go to cereal for as long as I remember!
I have only made 1 loaf of bread with the whole Red Fife flour & it turned out well. Nice texture. A like heavier or dense than I was expecting but have never used whole wheat flour before so I was happy with it. I have been told years ago that I have wheat allergies, but it is so much grain decided to try it.
I believe Red River cereal was made by a company called monarch is that true?
I was so grateful to see your product again in stores I grew up on Hot Red River cereal on those cold prairie winter days Thanks
Debbie Winnipeg
I discovered this cereal through a friend who grew up in the London area but has relocated to NB. I use it instead of oatmeal in my homemade bread recipe and my bread gets rave reviews from my family & friends! Thanks for such quality products. ❤️
