Very happy with my free shipment of Red River Cereal and have been eating some very healthy breakfasts! For my sweetener I've been carmelizing sliced banana pieces in a fry pan. After adding the pieces to my cereal I add a little milk to cool everything down.
Back in the 1970s and 80s my mom used to visit a friend who inherited her family cottage in Nova Scotia on the Bay of Fundy. Every time Mom returned home to Pennsylvania, she would include a big box of Red River Cereal to share with my brother and me. It was so different from anything we had ever eaten that was labeled as hot cereal. We would eat it with a little brown sugar on top, or maple syrup to sweeten it, and pour in a splash or two of milk to make it creamy. It was always such a treat! We rationed that box until she would visit in Canada again, which wasn’t every summer. Mom has been gone for years now, but recalling that old memory recently, made me go on a search to see if it was still available. Lo and behold I found it still being made by Arva Mills and ordered it right away. Same great taste brought back many memories of mornings eating a hearty hot Canadian cereal around our breakfast table! Am so glad it’s still available thanks to Arva Flour Mills! Thank you folks at Arva!

How wonderful it is to enjoy and serve Red River cereal again.
We have introduced it to our grandchildren. What a great start to their day eating a hot nutritious breakfast.
Thank you Arva Mills!
A healthy start to my day includes Red River cereal, blueberries and a small spoonful of peanut butter. Yum!
