An original Arva Flour Mills recipe handed down through time. The best Bran Muffins by a dam site!
Ingredients

1½ cups Brown sugar

3 cups Arva Bran
-
2 Cups Arva Daisy Hard Unbleached flour

1 cup Arva Daisy Hard Whole Wheat flour

1 tbsp Baking soda

½ tsp Salt

2 Large eggs
-
½ cup Salad oil (any light vegetable or olive oil)

2½ cups Buttermilk
Directions
Grease or spray pan with nonstick coating, or line with paper liners 24 muffin cups.
In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients. Make a well in centre.
In separate bowl, combine liquid ingredients. Beat to blend. Add to dry ingredients, mixing only until dry ingredients are moistened (batter will be lumpy).
Spoon into prepared pans. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
Recipe Note
Variation: add one cup raisins to dry ingredients.
Variation: to make extra large muffins, grease or spray 12 muffin cups, as well as entire top of muffin pan. Fill to overflowing with batter. Place pan on cookie sheet to catch spill-overs. Bake 35 minutes. To remove from pan, cut across top of pan with sharp knife to divide muffins. Ease out with fork.
